Walter Mangione is a Ph.D. Student at the Computational Intelligence Laboratory (CILab), University of Bari Aldo Moro. His research focuses on Artificial Intelligence for the study of brain diseases, combining graph-based learning with Explainable Artificial Intelligence.
His work investigates brain connectomes as graph-structured data and the use of Graph Neural Networks for analysing relationships between brain connectivity patterns and neurological or neurodegenerative conditions.
A central objective is to develop models whose predictions can be interpreted in terms of relevant brain structures and connections, linking graph learning, medical AI and explainability.
