Emanuele Colonna is a Contract Researcher at the Computational Intelligence Laboratory (CILab), University of Bari Aldo Moro. His research focuses on Computer Vision and Deep Learning, with particular interest in generative and multimodal models.
His work investigates vision-language learning, generative approaches and representations that connect visual information with natural language and other modalities.
A major application direction concerns Sign Language understanding and translation, where multimodal AI can support the modelling of complex relationships between visual gestures and linguistic information.
